Sun Valley High School Celebrates the Class of 2026

Sun Valley High School proudly celebrated the Class of 2026 during its 64th Annual Commencement Ceremony on June 9 at The Mirenda Center at Neumann University. The evening marked a milestone achievement for 242 graduates as they gathered with family, friends, faculty, and members of the Penn-Delco community to recognize their accomplishments.

During his remarks, Superintendent Dr. George Steinhoff reflected on the journey of the Class of 2026, revisiting words spoken by many of the graduates when they were kindergarteners. More than a decade ago, when asked what advice they would give future graduates, many members of this class shared a simple message: “Be nice.”

Dr. Steinhoff noted that those words proved to be a fitting reflection of the class, describing the graduates as “a class that is polite, decent, and respectful” and “an outstanding group heading off into the world.” He shared that kindness, civility, patience, and responsibility have been hallmarks of the Class of 2026  - from their elementary years through their time at Sun Valley.

“You aren’t nice because it’s expected. You’re nice because of who you are,” Dr. Steinhoff told graduates. “You have elevated the word.”

The ceremony featured remarks from Senior Class President Madeline Yaa Mae Ajarko, Salutatorian Emily Weissenburger, Valedictorian Braeden DiGiovanni, Principal John Paul Roskos, and Dr. Steinhoff.

As graduates begin their next chapters, Dr. Steinhoff reminded the Class of 2026 that the impact they leave behind is measured not only by their accomplishments, but also by the way they treat others.

“Our graduates have helped ensure that the sun in Sun Valley is not setting...it is rising,” Dr. Steinhoff shared.

Congratulations to the Sun Valley High School Class of 2026! We are proud of all you have accomplished and excited to see what comes next.
