Sun Valley Announces Class of 2026 Valedictorian and Salutatorian

Sun Valley High School is proud to announce Braeden DiGiovanni as the Valedictorian and Emily Weissenburger as the Salutatorian for the Class of 2026.

These exceptional students will deliver addresses to their graduating class during the Commencement Ceremony on Tuesday, June 9, at 6 p.m. at the Mirenda Center at Neumann University.

Braden DiGiovanni, Valedictorian

Braeden DiGiovanni has distinguished himself through exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and involvement throughout his time at Sun Valley. He completed a rigorous schedule of AP courses, participated in numerous honor societies, and was actively involved in a variety of extracurricular activities, including music and competitive academic teams such as Hi-Q, where he earned All-Delco honors.

In addition to his academic accomplishments, Braeden has demonstrated a strong passion for science and innovation. He will attend Northwestern University on a full-ride QuestBridge Scholarship, awarded for academic excellence and financial need. Braeden plans to study Chemical Engineering with the goal of improving the efficiency and effectiveness of chemical processes used in medicine.

Emily Weissenburger, Salutatorian

Emily Weissenburger has demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and service throughout her time at Sun Valley. She challenged herself through numerous AP and dual enrollment courses and was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa. Emily also held leadership roles across several organizations, serving on the National Honor Society cabinet, as Treasurer of the Science Honor Society, and as President of the English Honor Society, while also participating in the Math, Spanish, and Rho Kappa honor societies.

Beyond the classroom, Emily helped organize the school’s first-ever Mini-THON, raising more than $22,000 for childhood cancer. She was also a four-year member of the varsity swim team and participated in the school’s theater program. Emily will attend the University of Pennsylvania to study Nursing, with the goal of becoming a Nurse Practitioner in an emergency department.

Sun Valley High School extends its heartfelt congratulations to Braeden and Emily for their dedication, hard work, and inspiring achievements.
