Six Sun Valley Students Earn Spots in PMEA District 12 Ensembles

We are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our Sun Valley musicians who earned spots in the PMEA District 12 Band, Honor Choir, and A Capella Ensemble this year!

Victor Nguyen-Hernandez earned a spot in the District 12 Band as a tuba player, placing 3rd in the district. He will perform at the District Band Festival hosted by Penn-Delco and Swarthmore school districts at Strath Haven High School on February 6-7.

Our District 12 Honor Choir also features five talented Sun Valley students who auditioned alongside more than 700 musicians: Lucy Esposito, Dakotah Hermann, Amaya Howard, Jonathan Michael, and Natalie Sidlow. They will participate in the Honor Choir Festival at Upper Darby High School on January 9-10.

Adding to the excitement, Amaya Howard and Jonathan Michael earned spots in the highly selective PMEA District 12 A Capella Ensemble, a group that accepts only 16 students statewide. Both students ranked 1st in their sections and will perform at Springfield High School on January 16-17.

We are incredibly proud of all our students for their dedication, talent, and hard work. These achievements are a testament to their commitment to excellence in music!
