Penn-Delco Educator and Student Honored at Partners in Education Celebration
Penn-Delco School District is pleased to announce that two outstanding members of our school community were honored on Thursday, April 18, at the Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union Partners in Education Celebration at Drexelbrook.
Laura O’Kane, K-5 Music Teacher at Coebourn and Pennell Elementary Schools, was one of just 20 educators to receive the 2025 Delaware Valley Excellence in Teaching Award. With 19 years of experience, Mrs. O’Kane has consistently found joy in helping students achieve ambitious goals - like mastering three-part harmony in her elementary choirs. Her passion and dedication continue to inspire creativity and confidence in every student she teaches.
Aidan Hearn, a senior at Sun Valley High School, was recognized as a member of the All-Delco Hi-Q Team, one of only 21 students countywide to receive this distinction. Aidan has served as Hi-Q captain for three years, leading the team through a post-pandemic rebuild. He is also an Eagle Scout, marching band section leader, and co-president of the Ultimate Frisbee team—all while preparing for a future in cybersecurity.
Please join us in celebrating these remarkable honorees who represented the very best of Penn-Delco at this year’s event.
